To the guys on the KS boards - since I can't comment there and I suspect you guys are reading this.
Some of you keep claiming because they had 5x the money they asked for it should have been harder to screw this up, as they were rolling in cash.
Do you realise that also means they had to produce 5x the number of watches they originally planned? And that the manufacturing process had to be changed significantly to account for this? I don't think you do...
FWIW I'm not sticking up for them, but you really do need to shut up about that aspect of the project.
While I'm here, a few others (I CBF looking up the posts) are banging on about "How could they buy the parts they claimed when the battery manufacturer went bust ages ago? LIES! SCAM!". If you read back, they clearly say a few times the sourced another battery manufacturer - who as it turned out later made shitty quality batteries - and bought the parts there. There you go - mystery solved.

Hi, I'm a gullible fool!
Read: there's NO REASON to accept the above argument. It still absolves the dishonest, misleading, and bad business people of their responsibilities. If they didn't ensure to contract quality assurance into whatever deals they made with manufacturers, that makes them negligent, not innocent.
This is about scammery from some perspectives, but from others, it's not; it's about personal accountability and credible transparency. They are derelict on those counts.

It seems I was one of the lucky ones. I received my CST-01 in early February. Unfortunately, it is too small for my wrist. I emailed CST immediately, hoping to exchange for a larger size, but of course I never heard back from them.
It is a black CST-01, size medium. New-in-box; in fact, never left the box except for the one time I tried it on. Anyone interested? If you still want this watch, here's one that could be yours. If interested, email Burns! at cst4sale (at) gmail (dot) com.

I was going to order one of these watches but got busy and the KS closed. In hindsight, I'm very lucky that I didn't!
All in all, I'm rather soured on Kickstarter. If I had backed the CST-01, the delivery rate would be under 50%, as it is, it is about 60%. Pretty poor.

I'm often curious if there's more info out there and today happened to find this by googling dave vondle and refining to past month (google result is on page 2).. I can't find it on the Hattiesburg Cycles page itself but I have to wonder how someone surviving on $4000 a year can afford a phone call, let alone an expensive new toy. Hattiesburg Cycles - Google+ plus.google.com/+hattiesburgcycles6 days ago - Dave Vondle. 3 months ago. I would like to commend Jeff for the outstanding job he did in taking care of me on a recent phone order. He went out of his way to ...

What a bunch of crack-ups you all are! My FAVORITE post is from the Kickstarter website -- some pretentious doofus who works for a finance company in NY who states "I am not an investor who expects to loose money." I guess he missed the part of the story where Kickstarter is not a website for 'investors' and there is no guarantee of anything! You didn't 'invest.' You plugged in your credit card and then hoped for the best. That is what Kickstarter is!
Amazing that people can shell out a fairly minimal amount of money to help support somebody else's dream and cry and moan and threaten when the dream doesn't work out!

Botched $1M Kickstarter CST-01 Had Another Secret Investment, Made Up Van Sob Storyobserver.com/2015/06/botched-1m-kickstarter-cst-01-had-another-secret-investment-made-up-van-sob-story/My name is Sage Lazzaro, and I'm a reporter with The New York Observer. I've been looking into this campaign for some time now. I published this article about everything that happened a while ago, and I just published an update I think you backer would find interesting. I interviewed someone from CST's manufacturer, Flextronics, that worked with them, and she debunked some of the creators claims and even revealed Flextronics also invested in the company.
