Hey people. I created this board so we can speak freely without fear of our accounts being suspended by Kickstarter.

I pre-ordered from the website. $150.45 down the drain... I've been sending this email to them every day for the past couple of months:
Dear CST,
I’m getting married in June and with the apparent rate of production, I don’t expect my watch to be here by then. I will be moving away in May and my address will change, so I probably won’t even get the watch you send me. I’ve been really patient (I pre-ordered a year ago off the web site) and you guys aren’t really being respectful. I would appreciate a refund. I think that’s fair considering I don’t have the watch and it’s not on the way. Please, all I want is my money back. My order # is 5952 and the original ‘receipt’ is at the bottom of this email.
Thank you, ***********
I talked to my bank who told me they can't do anything because it's been past their 120 day limit. I talked to a lawyer who told me to try my bank again. I filed a complaint with the Illinois Attorney General. So far, nothing.

Yeah. It seems to me that these guys aren't going to respond to us or take any action--whether it's sending the product or a refund--without external pressure. They don't care about responding to us now because they've never cared.
Someone on the KS thread mentioned that the Ill attorney general was "taking action", i would love to know the details.
We all need to come together and shut these guys down...they should not be able to source that much $$ and fail without consequence or an explanation, at least.

What makes you so sure it's not gonna happen? People don't really post online when they get it. This is true for all my backed projects. Very few actually post about the product.
4500+ backer only 680 replies. 80+% posts are related updates.
/comments 440 backers 200 replies but only 10+ are about the final product. What are the chances CST-01 are actually shipping these but people aren't posting about it?

What makes me upset the most is that when I pre-ordered from the website, they sent me a receipt that said they will not charge me for the watch until they are ready to ship. That was Feb 10 2014 and they charged me a week later.
Also, I know that at least 3 people on the KS page got a watch and 2 of them said the watch had quality control issues. I would hope that more would comment on if they got the watch or not due to the amount of people upset at CST.

Yeah, I just read through that presentation that David Vondle did back in 2012... I think this was on his Flickr account at one time, or something like that. I've seen it before. In reading closer on it and looking back over our current situation... At the time, it seems like this was a homework presentation for school or possibly an internship at Ideo or something, which illustrates the lack of real-world experience. But, on a more significant note; It seems like he/they knew exactly what they were doing - in the sense that the presentation features a bunch of information about: • How to get startups going for minimal/no cost, and with no resources. • Where to get custom one-off prototypes or products made • How to get your idea funded. For the record, I'm not concerned about the independent cost. $130+, whatever. It's just the blatant disrespect for the people that BELIEVED in your shitty ideas! MAN, if I had that kind of support system around me, I'd be hand writing personal thank you cards to EVERY PERSON. I mean, we all gave them more money than we would spend on the average wedding, birthday or christmas gift — all in support of their BS idea of this watch. And we get no thank you's. Nothing. Just a big ol' F you, see ya later. Now, it's clear to me that they are pretty well protected through the idea of the kickstarter campaign. They can hide behind the TOC's and the legal verbiage that is protecting them there. But where they F'd up is by taking backorders and screwing those people out of their money. That's definitely fraudulent. Looking into where specifically that might fall under US code, it seems pretty clear cut that it's somewhere under the umbrella of fraud crimes. Here's some examples of where I think it may be directed: 1. MAIL FRAUD AND OTHER FRAUD OFFENSES - 18 U.S.C. § 1343. I too ordered a watch on pre-order and paid for it months ago.I just wish someone in Chicago can track them down or even the Chicago police department and sort this once and for all

Police won't do anything. They don't handle finance disputes. I'm not sure confronting them in person will do you any good unless you threathen their family.

I don't know for sure that it won't happen, it's just a hunch. I had my doubts 6 months ago...but now those doubts have blossomed practically into certainty. Considering the quality issues with the few that has been received, even if we do get this, i doubt it's a product that will last for any extended period of time or will even work as advertised out of the box.
Also Lauren those projects you posted--im glad they worked out--but those aren't nearly of the same complexity as the CST-01

I sent a demand letter with instruction on giving me a refund or else I'm planning to take them to small claims court to recover my lost.

One thing I want KS to have is a way for backer PM each other and more importantly a way vote on fulfillment. KS should have a report card on their fulfillment status monthly after the estimated fulfillment date. We shouldn't need to guess if anyone got anything. It's up to the backer to supply this data. if you're too lazy comment at least vote if you got yours. KS creator need to be more strict on who can fund. They should have their state ID on file. If they have a low success rate on their project they shouldn't be allowed to use the platform again. KS give no tools for us backer. I don't think will see these changes unless we band together to reshape the crowding funding platform.

Hey people. I created this board so we can speak freely without fear of our accounts being suspended by Kickstarter. Why is CST trying to block accounts now? We have been talking legal action for months if not a year already. I wonder if they're actually shipping watches monthly.

Post by Pre Order Fool on Apr 13, 2015 18:56:22 GMT
hey all, Im one of the pre orders from their website fools, in the beginning (2014) i got some email updates but they in stopped in june 2014, so since them im trying to contact them via e-mail & twitter as i could not write on the KS comments. then i tried to contact the journalist that wrote articles about the watch but not a single one respond. i am now trying to contact jerry via his new workplace.
i think the only way for a payback is to ruin their reputation:
Jerry O’ Leary is a thief. David Vondle is a thief. centralstandardtiming, CST-01 is a scam.
